How LaterWill works: check-ins, triggers, and delivery

LaterWill is built to avoid accidental sends. We check in periodically. If you go inactive long enough, delivery is triggered — with optional trusted-contact verification as an extra safety step.

What you set up

You don’t need a perfect plan. Start with one message and expand later.

  • Messages: draft, revise, and activate when you’re ready.
  • Recipients: choose who should receive which message.
  • Optional trusted contacts: a human verification step before delivery.

What a PING (check‑in) email is

On your schedule, we email you a simple “still here?” check‑in. Confirming keeps everything on hold.

  • One click is enough — no long forms.
  • Missing one email won’t trigger delivery. We send multiple reminders over time.
  • You can update your check‑in settings in the app.

What happens if you miss check‑ins

If you stop responding for long enough, LaterWill moves into a verification / trigger flow.

  • We continue sending reminders and wait through a longer safety window.
  • If you added trusted contacts, we ask them to confirm your status.
  • If they don’t respond in time, delivery can proceed after the timeout.

How delivery works

When delivery is triggered, recipients receive your message by email.

  • Recipients get only the message you wrote (no account access).
  • Each email includes a link to view online.
  • Recipients can unsubscribe from future messages at any time.

Trusted contacts are optional

Trusted contacts add an extra verification step, but they’re not required for LaterWill to work.

  • With trusted contacts: we ask them to confirm your status before delivery.
  • Without trusted contacts: delivery happens automatically after the safety window.

Reducing accidental delivery risk

Most false triggers come from simple issues like missed emails or inbox changes. A few small habits make a big difference.
